SINGAPORE, 16 June 2021 – Edtech startup ACKTEC has announced that it is partnering with Accredify — a Singapore-based firm which helps companies create, issue and verify digital credentials. Under this partnership, Accredify will help to provide authentication for accredited courses held on ACKTEC’s online learning platform.

Even as the labor crunch in Singapore is forcing workers to seek out courses to reskill and upskill, the rising instances of degree fraud and degree mills have left both employers and knowledge-seeking employees in a quandary. 

“With the digital learning economy picking up speed, the number of online courses available will grow — but not all of them are legitimate. As a platform provider, ACKTEC has a crucial responsibility in the educational ecosystem to safeguard learners using our platforms and their prospective employees from fraud, as well as to protect the reputations of our partner education providers,” shared Rayvan Ho, CEO of ACKTEC. 

With its integration into ACKTEC’s learning platform, Accredify ensures that credentialled courses on the ACKTEC platform are tamper proof and verifiable — protecting students, employers and education providers from fraud. Students have the assurance that their certificates will be recognised as legitimate, while employers will be easily able to verify authenticity, even with third-party verifiers. These individualised digital certificates can be prepared and issued at the click of a button, allowing students and education providers to focus on what is most important: teaching and learning.
