SINGAPORE, 19 July 2021 – Singapore-based firms Accredify and Beep today announced their collaboration to roll out a plug-and-play solution to retrofit existing vending machines for COVID-19 Testing.

With this solution, any vending machine in the market can be easily upgraded to dispense self-test COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test (ART) kits and issue verifiable results to the patient within 20 minutes.

This partnership follows the government’s latest guidelines indicating that workers in higher-risk settings will be placed on the mandatory fast and easy testing (FET) regime, where employees have to undergo regular COVID-19 ART tests every 14 days, regardless of vaccination status.  Higher-risk settings include dine-in food and beverage establishments, personal care services such as hairdressers and spas, and fitness studios.

Instead of manually distributing ART Kits to their employees, enterprises with existing Vending Machines on their premises can install Beep’s IoT solution to connect their Vending Machines to the Cloud. Eligible employees will then be sent an SMS with a QR code which they scan at the Vending Machines to retrieve their kit.

Self-test ART kits are government-approved and adhere to the FET regime, and several COVID Testing Vending machines have already been successfully piloted in several hospitals in Singapore for Rostered Routing Testing (RRT). In addition, Accredify-issued test results adhere to Singapore’s HealthCerts schema, a template for digital COVID-19 test results which the firm helped to co-develop and has since been mandated by the Singapore government.

Beep has facilitated over 32 million transactions through over 2,500 unattended touchpoints across several countries in South East Asia. Beyond Singapore, it is also currently supporting Hong Kong’s nationwide distribution of PCR DTS Test Kits, with over 1.2 million kits dispensed since the end of last 2020. In this first-ever collaboration between Accredify & Beep, it will maximise the potential of mass testing while at the same time, reducing the spread of COVID-19
